Just as dusk was approaching
I went and sat in the garden,
A scotch by my side.
I looked up into the slowly darkening sky,
All was still.
All was quiet.
The quietness at the ending of the day
Calmed my spirit,
And all was right with my world.
But the silence bemused me,
There was no birdsong,
Not even a robin singing.
The feeling came into my mind,
What a sad place my world would be,
Without the glories of nature’s music,
Creating the symphony in my life.

A fine write Gold. Nature's days - one day fog-bound; now today a day it's taking ages to get light.
Thank you Orchi.
Loosing any one of the senses darkens the world but loosing hearing or sight seem to be the worst. What is the world without music or color. Nicely written Andy.
Very true soren, "What is the world without music or colour?" Thank you.

As a thought I cannot fault it; though I know you only put the scotch in there to stir me up!π
Thank you Dave, the scotch is here for you anytime.

i empathize with your views - without Nature and its lovely sounds, life would be so mundane
So very true Nafisa, thank you.
Andy
glad that some of our thoughts are similar, and we appreciate nature in equal measure
