Tune: Lucy

('O Lord of every shining constellation')

Psalm 31 v.14-24 parts

********

I trusted in you, O Lord, I said, You are

My God, my times are in your hand, not far

Are you from me, save me from my enemies

And from they who

And from they who my persecutors be

Make your face to shine here upon your servant

Save me for your mercies sake to me sent

Let me not be ashamed, O Lord, for I have

Called upon you

Called upon you, come help me, come me save

O how great is your goodness, which you have laid

Up for them that fear you, it be strong, staid

You have wrought it for them that trust you before

The sons of men

The sons of men, they have confidence sure

O love the Lord, all you His saints, He preserves

The faithful, and plentiful in reserves

Is He, be of good courage, He shall strengthen

Your heart, all you

Your heart, all you that hope in Him midst men

A hymn, a poem, a prayer three wrapped into one. This indeed sounds very Old Testament Orchi. Nicely done

Thank you SB. I've left out some 'curses upon enemies' type of verses. I shouldn't really leave them out, but they don't make for 'nice' hymn-poems!

      • sorenbarrett

You are most welcome my friend those curses verses remind me of the expanded verses of Glory Glory Hallelujah

Thank you D. 'Fear' in olden sense means awe, reverence, respect, etc.

              Beautiful, my friend. Well done.

Question, do you hear that? And, with all of that glugging, what is in plentiful reserves? DON'T ANSWER THAT! Bring the brolly though! ☔️🤣 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

              • orchidee

Thank you T. Oh no! Why did I mention 'reserves'. It's got them glugging now. lol.
