Tune: Need
('I need thee every hour')
Psalm 40 v. 1-4 and v.16-17
**********
I waited patient for
The Lord, He sure
Did hear me, inclined to
Me, helped anew
Chorus
But I am poor and needy
Ye the Lord thinks on me
You are my help, and saviour
And my soul's cure
He brought me out of pit
Deep, my way lit
With His presence, He set
Me on rock yet - Chorus
And He has put new song
In my mouth strong
E'en praise to my God, so
Mercies does show - Chorus
Blessed they that make the Lord
Their trust, His word
They rely on, not proud
Nor lies enshroud - Chorus
Let all they that Him seek
Be glad, the meek
Glad in Him, magnify
Salvation nigh - Chorus

Another good hymn Orchi that focuses on something we can do as opposed to asking for something that we can't. Well done
Thank you SB.
Most welcome Orchi
I enjoy your read as always.
Thank you F.
You are most welcome
Well done, and another fantastic tune you set it to! πΌπΆ πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
Salvation may be secured once attained, but glugging...? Can their ever be any security in that? Even with Salvation? π€£ Heaven only knows!
Thank you T. Now you've made me think - Does Popeye need something every hour? But don't answer that! lol.
Does that why he was singing that age-old, "Me glugs thee ev'ry hour..." π€£
Yes, and is Ol' Tom knitting every hour?! lol.
Indeed! In fact, that's the original lyrics to the hymn...him being THAT old and tired of course. At least he isn't as old. A Mighty Fortress is Our God! π€·ββοΈππ€ͺ
Let's run to that fortress to escape P and Co. And hope it's sound-proof walls, so we don't hear glugs or sound of knitting needles or sabres being wielded. Comments are getting more cryptic. Why? Don't answer that! lol.
I would, but...something's tied my tongue! π
With your earlier comment - we need a fortress to escape..... don't answer that! lol
When do the meek actually inherit this earth.
Now that is the question.
The need to trust is great in these great mistrusting days! ποΈππ»
A trusting thank you A.
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
