Eternal Exaltation

orchidee

Tune: Hanover

('O worship the King')

Revelation 5 v.11-13

**********

John behold, heard voice of many angels

Round about God's throne, and every one tells

Of His eternity, four beasts round throne too

And multitude, millions sing praises new

With loud voice they proclaim the Lamb worthy

That was slain to receive power, glory

Riches and wisdom and strength and honour sure

And blessing unto Him now, for evermore

And every creature which is in heaven

Joins with all that is on the earth right then

And all under the earth, and such in the sea

The whole creation sings to Him perfectly

They sing, Blessing, honour, glory, power

Be unto Him that sits on throne each hour

The Lord God Almighty, and Jesus His Son

The Lamb of God, Saviour unto every one

Another good write Orchi your morning hymns are great markers in the day even for an old reprobate like me.

    • orchidee

Thank you SB. You were partly the inspiration for this, as from one of your recent poems, and the hymn lines I put in the comment - they're in the hymn in this video. No end to your inspiring me - even ideas for KP's dinners. Dunno why she complains! I vary the sewage recipes. lol.

      • orchidee

And - if reprobate means 'unprincipled', I can't say I've noticed it in you, cos you stick to high principles in suggesting lovely recipes for KP! heehee.

Orchi You never cease to make me smile

          • orchidee

It was you who admired how generous I am in giving KP extra helpings of sewage, and how, alas, she is so ungrateful for them. heehee.

Well done, your poem centers around the worship and reverence given to God and the Lamb (often interpreted as Jesus Christ) in a heavenly setting. It depicts a vision of divine glory, where angels and all of creation join in a chorus of praise, reflecting themes of eternity, divinity, and the ultimate authority of God.

            • orchidee

Thank you F. I can't interpret fully as you can, the poems on here. If they're cryptic, I've often not got the foggiest idea of what's going on! lol.

Beautiful, my hymnodic friend! Another wonderful hymn-poem that inspires exaltation. Truly reverent and holy, my friend.

Unfortunately, it also stirs in a few glugging-type (you know them, methinks) lots of Eternal E…nope, I’m not finishing that. 🤣

              • orchidee

Thank you T. Eternal, Popeye?! Swoon! lol

                • Tristan Robert Lange

                  Swoonapalooza! 🤣

                  Good one Orchi.

                    Thank you Gold.

                  • Dominic Windram

Another lovely hymn poem. I'm entranced by your lines about the angels, '...and everyone tells/ Of His Eternity.' They are powerful lines that William Blake would have been proud to have produced, certainly. Anyway, your poem is my new fave.

                    • orchidee

Thank you D. I think William Blake can be eccentric at times! lol. I add some bits in here and there, so it's not completely verbatim from the Bible verses, though someone elsewhere 'accused' me that it was, saying, 'Ere, you copied that all out exactly?; that's no effort for a poet'.
They were not friendly, more hostile, as in 'Bah! You call that poem?' So I blocked them somehow! heehee.

                      • Dominic Windram

I simply adore blocking certain types online...ha-ha...good on you! I think my calling card has to be that song by Queen: ' Another One Bites The Dust.'

                        • orchidee

That'll teach 'em! We don't say they have to like our poems 100% but that's no reason to slag us off. You pressed that Panic Button (Block Button) lately? Thankfully, I've rarely needed to press it. lol.

                          • Dominic Windram

I haven't encountered any problems like that on this site so far. Indeed, my experience has been very nice. However, I have a reputation for blocking certain types on Facebook and you know what my experiences are so much smoother for that. I told one of my closest friends that there are many former acquaintances out there who are seemingly desperate to get back in touch with me, but the fact of the matter is that I have no interest in them at all. Moreover, these days I feel I have an awful lot to share with a few open and friendly people, but I haven't anything to say to many others...ha-ha!

                            • Dominic Windram

Just to add to that, the friend of mine that I referred to has recently come off Facebook and now refers to it as Forty Facebook...brilliant...ha-ha!

                              • orchidee

It's LinkedIn that drives me mad. Who are these people, who we mainly neither need, know, or want?! lol.

                                • Dominic Windram

Yes, I've written many articles on Linkedin over the years ( around 75) and they are routinely ignored by many of the members ( corporate bots) on there. Although I did once get over a 100 likes for a piece I wrote about Wordsworth's Extract from the Preludes ( which is in the poetry anthology for GCSE English Lit. exam), it is definitely a site filled with philistines...ha-ha! It doesn't really matter that much to me because I promote my business mainly on Facebook, and for me at least, it is the ideal platform for obtaining clients particularly in my local area.

                                  • orchidee

Doh! Since when was anyone 'cultured' on LinkedIn? I will probably see some friend on there now, having said that, and put my big foot in it. lol.

                                    • Dominic Windram

I guess they like to post and read articles purely about business trends etc....which is rather tedious...isn't it vulgar to talk about money? Anyway, I write articles about subjects across the Arts & Humanities because I have more than one brain cell...unlike many ( but certainly not all) of the uncultured cretins on there...ha-ha!

                                      • orchidee

It seems to always be about business. And - Who are those people?! We don't know half of 'em! lol.
Oh no - I often say I've only got 3 brain cells. and can't work out cryptic poems. heehee.

                                        • Dominic Windram

When I first connected with my closest friend on there, who I meet up with regularly, because he lives in my town, I told him, ' I'm so pleased to connect with you because at least you're a real person'....ha-ha! Most of the posts on Linkedin sound scripted to me and a lot of members come across as irritating, cartoonish characters...not good!

                                          • orchidee

Bugs Bunny might be on there - cartoon characters. lol. When it may say ' by Joe Bloggs' we may be suspicious. lol.
