Tune: St Edmund
('Songs of thankfulness and praise')
Revelation 11 v.15-19
*********
Seventh angel's trumpet sound
Great voices in heaven redound
Saying, Kingdoms of this world
Proclamation now unfurled
They are become the kingdoms
Of our Lord, makes there His home
And too of our Christ, and He
Shall reign for ever, so be
And the twenty four elders
Which sat before God, each stirs
From their thrones and fall upon
Their faces, worship as one
God, Saying, We thanks you give
You who were, are, ever live
Because you have taken to
Your great power and reigned true
And the nations were angry
And the time of your wrath be
Come, and time of dead's judgement
Yet mercy to penitent
And time you should give reward
To your servant, they you heard
Prophets, saints, and all that fear
You, comforts to them appear
Though you shall destroy those who
Destroy the earth, who so do
Then temple of God in heaven
Opened and His ark* seen then
The ark of His testament
Then there lightnings, thunderings sent
Voices, earthquake, hail, great things
All with God's victory rings
---------
* ark - a trunk-sized box, not meaning Noah's Ark

A hymn meant to be scarry for the enemy "great voices, angry nations, fear, lightnings and thundering's, earthquakes, hail. Quite the power move.
Thank you SB. Those sundry lightnings, etc appear at various points in Revelation.
This carries the weight of scripture without losing its human pulse.
Reverent, thunderous, and steady—faith spoken with conviction, not noise.
A thunderous thank you Tom. lol
Well done.
Thank you F.
A fine hymn, orchidee.
Thank you J.
You've instructed us on the final Trumpet, and did very well in it, dearest Orchi! The question remains, and you're certainly silent on it...what happens at the final glug? Definitely, don't answer that, or swooning might be the least of our problems! 🤣
My silliness aside, I could not put it better than Thomas did above, Orchi! A might fine poem, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you T. There are 'woes' in Revelation too. One of our daft woes is 'Oh woe! Will there ever be a final glug?' heehee.
Woof! Fido says to me - you taking these messages in Revelation seriously?' I reply: 'Yes, but there are daft distractions too'. I told Fido what they were, and he swooned too! lol.
Oh...Fido swooned! Did every F F F F F F F foul-mouthed poem not rated +18 get away with verbal murder? LOL!
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
