a hammer comes to the land of nails

Jon Nakapalau

and at first everything was better

the hammer explained that for the nails to be useful
he had to hit them on their heads

not because he was better than they were
but it just made sense

they could not function correctly
if they were not driven into something

the force used was to build
and everything would be held together for all

but then the nails started to notice
the hammer kept hitting them

even as structures rotted
and nails were wasted on abandoned projects

but by this time the hammer had been joined
by many more hammers

and the nails found they were held fast
unable to move

no longer sticking out.
