Such a short life he had,
He only reached thirty-five years
But he changed the face of music
In those few years.
He is looked upon as the greatest,
The greatest composer of all,
Certainly to my mind he is.
On this day he was born,
Born two hundred and seventy years ago.
I have listened to his music,
Listened to it all my long life
So on this day I say
Many Happy Returns Wolfgang
As you sit in Heaven
Playing your music to us all.
