Disconnect

M.E.M.

It’s hurt before

When I connect to a job

It’s people

and company.

To have a rejection notice

slap me across the face.

I found a way

to not get my hopes up while

simultaneously learning more

about a potential job.

Research like a scientist,

heartless, clinical, and inquisitive.

You gain knowledge

without the connection forming

to the job,

the company,

and its people

So if rejection does come,

It doesn’t sting as much

as last time.

Now days where employment is uncertain and loyalties are few one needs to maintain a bit of separation. Nicely done
