Notice of absence from Just Kate
I'm going to go learn Haiku. If I'm not back in a week, send in the troops... I obviously need help. Kidding. Just learning how to navigate this site and how to upload poems... that I feel are good enough.

I wasn't going to post this,
I really don't want to see
Just how little the poetry world
happens to think of me.
I'm not quick witted
Something like this takes time
To write out the story and then
Try to make it rhyme!
I do not have the courage
To post another one
I'm afraid of the criticism
Hopefully this one turns out fun!
Though, for now I rest my pen
And I put my paper back
They go upon my writing desk
I'll stack them neatly in the back
Maybe once I get
The feedback I so want
I'll pick up my pen again
And give writing poetry another shot.

- Comment from author about the poem: I\\\'ve been writing poetry my whole life. Now that I\\\'m 47 and life has kind of slowed down, I\\\'m able to give poetry a go. I\\\'d be lying if I said I wasn\\\'t afraid of criticism. Please be kind?

A vote from me - I like and practice rhyming verse. Just get in there and tell the world what you think.πππ
LOL I'm gonna try!!
This was a fun read of the venture of timidity that we all have with first postings and new settings. It does it with a clear and well steadied rhyme that serves as a good foundation for a good flow. Nicely done
I appreciate your kind words. Thank you
You are most welcome
Don't give up the pen just yet.
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Though the planning office did say Brutus was to blame.
Sneaking up on the official, knife he did relay.
This put the build back a week.
Cos the guy to sign it off, Julius they couldn't bloody seek.
No, I won't give up. Writing was what I was put here to do.
Haikus are my favorite!! Deff worth learning, my advice is start with three lines and then put the net up (5-7-5) as far as your poem though. Also I love this poem about writing poetry, it's something I struggle with as well because I myself can hardly take criticism as much as I dish it out hahaha. Still Hope to see you post more often and sooner
Just began playing with Haiku's yesterday... Hang tight!! π
Another vote from me. Please keep writing- it's a pleasure to read works which is penned by someone who admits vulnerability. At least to me, it's rare.
