Creation Celebrations

Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen

('All creatures of our God and King')

Psalm 104 v.24-31

********

O Lord, your works how manifold!

The whole of them cannot be told

Alleluia, Alleluia!

In wisdom you have them all made

Earth full of your riches displayed

All your great creation arrayed

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

So is this vast and widened sea

Sea monsters* do play therein free

Alleluia, Alleluia!

These all daily wait upon you

That you may feed them, that they do

By grace you sustain them anew

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

They gather up that which you give

So you enable them to live

Alleluia, Alleluia!

You open your hand, they are filled

With good things, it be as you willed

Care for your creation revealed

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

You hide your face, they are troubled

Take away their breath, their life stalled

Alleluia, Alleluia!

They die, and to their dust return

Lord of your creatures, we discern

All life is in your hands, we learn

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

You send forth your spirit, and they

Are created that very day

Alleluia, Alleluia!

The face of the earth you renew

Glory of the Lord endures true

He rejoices in His works too

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Alleluia Orchi. Another great hymn my friend

Thank you SB. You met any leviathan? Some says it's the crocodile or the alligator, or could be the whale.

        • sorenbarrett

You are most welcome Orchi. If it is an alligator I had a baby one as a pet as a child. It wouldn't eat so I had to catch it and hold it upright like a musket and with the eraser end of a pencil stuff raw hamburger down its throat like loading the musket. Never had a whale for a pet though

          Good one Orchi.

            Thank you Gold.

Orchi…glugs…spinach tin cracked…Popeye flex engaged. Alleluia indeed. 🤮🤣

But truly, this is joyful and reverent in equal measure. The sweep from sea monsters to dust to Spirit feels expansive and grounded at once. It sings. You’ve honored the psalm’s wonder without losing your own voice. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

              Thank you T.
Erm, there's Popeye's version - for every Alleluia he says Glug-a-glug-glug instead! lol.

              • Tristan Robert Lange

LOL! Indeed, He calls it Glugging Gospel Music! LOL!
