Distraction and Other Games Politicians Play

The name Epstein, sounds German, or Jewish to me

what do you guys all think ..

Well, to be honest, we don’t really know, or care

anymore whether it sounds

perhaps Yiddish, Teutonic, oriental, or something

   completely different that which

might fall beyond, outside or between any such

brand, marker, tag, label, logo or sign ..

You see we have cried, for so long and so hard that

we can’t see, or cry anymore ..

We are lost, like so many other victims are lost to

   such well-versed, political greed ..

Whereas all those high hungry churches, temples

and once pretty cathedrals

still burning out there hide behind their hypocrisies ..

But even all that, doesn’t alter the fact

they continue to use and abuse such vilified names

as a foil, or as a shield, to both

disrupt and distract, from what is really going on in

the world, behind closed doors

and all of these deliberately clouded smokescreens

they throw in the air, while systematised

bombing, killing, maiming and legitimatised genocide

go unchecked in Kiev, Gaza and Syria

just to name, a few of the big ones, so go on, I double

dare you to take a good, long and hard

look at the news headlines today and if afterwards ..

You are not completely blinded too,

then you will almost certainly begin to see what I mean ..

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sometimes but increasingly often these days, one has to look deeper than what they want one to see and to believe in .. That is of course if you want to see clearly .. They are very good at playing such dangerous and underhand games .. The bullies, the despots, the bigots, the liars and most unchecked presidents and political leaders I mean .. Thanks for taking a peek .. Neville

Neville you have hit a sensitive spot. I like to consider myself antipolitical but I have recently been prodded by current events into writing some political posts and have another one ready to put up. They are not for either side in what I see as a bad guys and worse guys battle so its hard to cheer but it is about the absurdity of history reenacting itself and no one seeming to notice or care. Maybe they just feel helpless and don't know what to do. This poem hits hard and boils the blood. You might want to check out Rashomon or one, two, three, four.... five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten
