Sapphire dots on black velvet wings, a night sky afloat on invisible strings
A portal to Thanatos heaven opened in day, drifting dreams too soon flown away
Transfigured wings destined from birth, carry flittering scraps above worm's earth
Crawling caterpillars, from a chrysalis fly, painted whispers soar on summer's sky
Folded food of birds as broken words, and such is the end of butterfly herds

Thanks so much David I deeply appreciate your kind review and supportive words
The beauty of butterflies is stunning. It is amazing how nature can come up with such designs. Even a human mind will struggle to reproduce these. One thing we notice with butterflies is their short life. Within that short time they must reproduce themselves.
Thank you Soman for your read and words of encouragement they are most important to me
nicely written. Your poem revolves around butterflies, metamorphosis, and the themes of life and death. It contemplates the journey from caterpillar to butterfly, symbolizing growth, change, and the fragility of existence.
Thank you Friendship for the review and interpretation it is appreciated and valued
A true manifesto of ephemeral beauty !
Thanks so much Lorenz i appreciate your read and comment my friend
Soren, this is rich in image and layered in meaning. You weave night sky, metamorphosis, and mortality into something both delicate and unsparing. The beauty never hides the end…it simply flies toward it. A striking, thoughtful piece, dear friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks my friend for the review it is so important to me and is most appreciated
Wonderfully written Soren. We seem to have both been encaptured by butterflies recently, they’re beautiful insects.
Thank you so much Allie for the review and comment. What always is interesting to me is how often subjects spontaneously coincide with other poets.
You’re very welcome. Yes we all seem to be interlinked in some way.
Your poem masterfully blends striking imagery with deeper themes of transformation and mortality . The language is evocative, like "sapphire dots on black velvet wings" and "painted whispers soar". It lingers beautifully! Very nicely written. A fave ❤️
Thank you so much Salvia for the read and kind comment. So nice to see you are back.
