Hopeful Homes

Tune: Herongate

('It is a thing most wonderful')

Psalm 128

*********

Blessed is every one that does fear

The Lord, with awe, they do draw near

And walk in His ways, for they shall

Eat fruit of their labours, do well

Happy shall they be, their wives be

As fruitful vines by houses, see

Their children as olive plants round

Their tables, known the joyful sound

Behold, that thus shall they blessed be

Who do fear the Lord constantly

The Lord shall bless them from the place

Of Zion, they His mercies trace

They shall see the good of city

Of Jerusalem, fine it be

All the days of their life, and they

With future generations pray

This hymn seems both a covenant and a promise between God and people. Nicely done Orchi

Orchi, this moves with such calm assurance that it lulls you…then suddenly you’re sentimental about Zion and family tables like it’s the emotional climax of Baters Season 1,000,001. The rhythm carries it. The imagery seals it. I am fully misted. Someone turn off the glugs! 🤣 Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you T. lol. I'm following the Psalm - mentions of Zion, tables, vines, etc. There's no hope that P will stop........... don't finish that! lol.
