Sixteen feels like an unfamiliar territory
Sixteen feels like it's not meant for me,
Sixteen feels like I'm out of my comfort zone,
Sixteen feels like I'm in a strange place all alone.
I still haven't come to terms with it,
In my mind I let it sit,
I believe it's going to take a long time,
For me to believe that the past is no longer mine.
Someone asked my age the other day,
And I almost said fifteen,
I had to stop myself halfway,
I believe im still lingering in between.
I know I'm still young,
I still have time left,
But , oh god , getting older stung,
This was not something I did expect.

Getting older can be a pain, but youβll grow into your skin. Youβll come to appreciate your birthdays although they are daunting and scary. I wish you the best, and wonderful poem.
Thank you so much πππ and I hope you achieve everything you want
Youβre very welcome, I wish the same to you as well
Birthdays can be scary : they remind you of the inexorable march of time, something over which we have no control. The days and weeks chalk up. Little by little you find that you are shutting yourself out from new events, new trends. You will stick to previous fashions, clothes... Your friends are those you have known quite some time back...

Old at 16? Get real Son. You won't be a full adult until you are 25, and hopefully by that time you will be ready to sort out the world. π
Post Script: Subsequent to my commentary above, I explored your home page and discover that you classify yourself as female. Oh that makes all the difference! π
Thank youu π and yup I\'m a girl π€

Well it is high time you reared up and told me that it makes no difference you are a girl, come 25 you are going to get up there and change the world! π
