Small Victories

Aa Harvey

Small Victories

I was depressed yesterday for the first time in a long time.

I use poetry as medicine, by writing my mind,

But I had to work, so poetry was impossible.

I distracted my agony and crawled through the miserable.

I came out the other side looking forward to Sunday.

Life is a killer and we tussle everyday,

And most of the time the darkness that surrounds us,

Turns into sunshine if you just hold on ‘til it does.

Life was ok, but today was another battle.

Will I find happiness in slavery or will I show my mettle,

And fight for a worthy cause?

My name, My life, My hope.

Are you still fighting for yours?

Or have you polymorphed,

Into one of many sheep?

Remember to grit your teeth,

When you are heading to your victory!

Or even to defeat...

Thank you. I usually listen to WoW Podcasts while playing WoW, but the other day I just had a sudden need to listen to Oasis and this song appeared in my head when I was looking for a video to go with the poem.
      Peace, Love and Empathy.

Win or loose is not the point it is to do it and say one has done one's best and tried. A good write
