Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss

Friendship

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss

In a town where the Whos and the Wuzzles convene,
The calendar flipped to a day bright and green—
It’s the birthday of Seuss, the grand word‑smith king,
Whose pencils have danced and whose verses still sing.

From the Cat in the Hat with his tall striped‑tall hat,
To the Grinch who would steal, then return what he’d sat,
From the fox in the socks who just couldn’t stop,
To the Lorax who whispered, “I speak for the top!”

We’ll toss confetti of green eggs, a splash of jam‑berry,
And sprinkle red‑fish‑on‑blue‑plates that swim like a ferry.
A carousel of rhymes will spin round and round,
While Sneetches in stars do a jubilant sound.

For today, the world rolls in a blue‑striped cab,
With Horton the Elephant, a birthday‑balloon slab,
And Sam‑I‑Am shrugs, “I’m not one for the norm,”
Yet he’ll hand you a cake that’s a fluffy pink storm.

So light up the candles—one, two, three, four—
And watch them grow taller than a Who’s house’s floor.
Make a wish, dear Dr. Seuss, in your whimsical loft,
May your ink never dry, and your thoughts stay aloft.

Happy birthday, dear Seuss, from the world that you’ve spun,
A place where the impossible’s simply “just fun.”
May your year be as endless as a page yet unfilled,
And may every new line be a thrill‑filled, rhyming spill.
