Fragile

sorenbarrett

With an anchor of mass chained to an ankle of glass we are a prisoner of the world you see
It's the lead in our ass that doesn't let us pass light's velocity
It's our girth that ties us to earth and doesn't let us flee
Two places at once we can't be in our hunts for immortality
By entropy strangled we are entangled no matter how far
Though we evolve we dissolve as we reach the farthest star

Soren, this made me think about how often humanity imagines escape… from gravity, from limits, even from time itself. Your poem gently reminds us that fragility travels with us wherever we go. That last line stayed with me: “Though we evolve we dissolve as we reach the farthest star.” A thoughtful reflection on our place in the universe. Well done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Your poem "Fragile" explores the tension between human aspirations for freedom and immortality and the inherent limitations imposed by our physical existence. The imagery of being "prisoners" of the world highlights the struggles of human existence, where our physical bodies, represented by the "anchor of mass" and "ankle of glass," confine us to a mortal state. The theme revolves around the paradox of human evolution and the quest for transcendence, ultimately suggesting that despite our advancements, we remain bound by the laws of nature and the reality of entropy.
