Do we forgive the sun that burnt us with its warmth or the thorn that pricked as we reached for beauty
Why resent the hammer that pinched our thumb, sinking a nail to protect us from the storm
Or the storm itself that wets us, giving water of life for our crops, washing away the dirt of day
Why curse the wind of betrayal that whisked away our blanket that warmed us in our bed
Or the flat tire that carried us thirty thousand miles before its air fled

Good write SB. Yes, KP prepares dinner sometimes. She says to me some words not needed: 'More sewage, dear?' lol.
Thanks Orchi for the read and comment it is appreciated. Doesn't she ever alter the menu with a little sludge or excrement?
so beautifully wise.. life happens and we have to go through all of it
Thank you so much for the review and comment it is deeply appreciated
This is thoughful. Why do people curse inanimate objects . It is a fault we have because the Sun the hammer and the storm are not listening.A very powerful poem.Made me think
Thank you so much David for your read and comment it is deeply appreciated. Yes we are so self centered that what ever happens to us we blame others for and then think that we need to forgive placing us above all else. Why forgive when it is us that causes the harm and nature just is.
I think we should, forgiveness all around, we need it ourselves, none of us perfect 🙏🏻🕊️
Thanks Cryptic my thoughts as well. I chose to take the back road on this one in that I had traveled the direct rout too many times and the result is always the same. I deeply appreciate your reviews and comments my friend
Soren, this reads like a meditation on perspective…how quickly we resent the very things that once served us well. The sun, the storm, even the flat tire after miles of faithful work…each image quietly reframes frustration into gratitude. It’s simple, reflective, and leaves a lasting thought behind. Well done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you so much for the read Tristan and the comment. It is most appreciated
Most welcome, Soren!
A fine write, Sorenbarrett.
Thanks so much Jerry for your read and comment it is most appreciated
a text in the form of a 4 seasons sarabande !
Thanks Lorenz I guess the castanets gave it away
The curse relieves stress and motivates evasive or corrective action? Is there room for a couple more stanzas there , Soren?
I thank you profoundly Dave yes maybe there could be more but I have always been told less is more and you simply asking for more is the highest compliment. They always say always leave your audience asking for more.
😂You can be slippery when you like, can't you Soren? My response was rhetorical. Your piece, as far as I could interpret asked why ‘we’ curse inanimate objects or phenomena. I provide you with the answer in the form of a query, suggest a couple more stanzas might incorporate that and avoid the introduction of your poetic 'forgiveness’ as a silly topic for debate.
Had to be slippery to last this long Dave. Yes you are right but along with inanimate objects we curse others blaming them for what we are responsible for so forgiveness really has nothing to do with it, it is becoming responsible for our own choices. But at least you got the guts to say what's on your mind and I like that although some others may not.
At least you always respond, although some others may not😂.
Please don't give me advice, Soren - I really don't need it.
Seems everything is double edged in one way or another.
Well put.
Thanks so much Kevin for the review and comment it is appreciated
Ah yes, before we see the view we have to climb the mountain. I try to appreciate the misfortunes that fall upon me because often something wonderful comes after. Great poem Soren.
Thank you so much for the read Allie your comment is most appreciated. With a view that all things happen for the best their is no resentment.
You’re very welcome Soren.
Such true words soren, we all have these problems but just need to move on and get over them.
Andy
Thanks so much Andy for the review and kind words of support they are as always appreciated and valued
How we blame everything but ourselves at times…
Thank you William for the read and comment it is most appreciated. Yes far easier to blame others than ourself
The message I get from between the lines is: acceptance and perspective. You never stated it - such a great skill.
Thank you so much Carmen for the read and comment that is very astute. It is most appreciated and valued
Most welcome and thanks for sharing your wisdom and craft.
The pleasure is mine and it would mean nothing without people like you that read it
I wonder all the time about the things we give a negative meaning to, especially in the arts. Like rain in pop songs. pigs have gotten a bad rep, and on and on it goes.
Thanks Vipassana we are like a kidney filtering the waste that is part of us pissing on that outside us then blaming it for the smell. Appreciate the read
Poem A WORD NOT NEEDED Looks trivial and deep-minded. Childish questions. But a wise child awakens within you. More words are not needed to explain. I like the poem. Thanks!
Thank you so much Falcon for the read and comment. Yes the title was originally meant to mean that the word forgiveness is not needed by one that already understands for there is nothing to blame.
