Remembering PG

orchidee

Rest In Peace PG (female)

Your suffering is over now

Though we visited you in hospital

You had a bad back pain one evening

And were taken to hospital

Then a diagnosis -

Only three to four months left to live - a return of the 'c' word illness

But caught a chest infection too

And only survived a little less than three months

Living day by day - 'playing it by ear', as the saying goes

Is all any of us can do; we can't live tomorrow

As it's not here yet.....

You and your family, PG, had  - and has

Various health matters and conditions - and ongoing

The family is strong in their adversities

They have soldiered on - and still do now

You let me pray for you in hospital, PG

You had some faith at least

As the saying goes:

'Those who have faith, a lot or a little

Whether known by other people, or known by God alone'

I felt, as at certain other times

A gut feeling, something unsettling

Deep within - in my spirit, I suppose

In our spirits, if we too have the same feeling

Of something 'about to happen'

Or 'something recently happened'

This is one of the major things

Causing my erratic poetry at times

Though other ongoing things too

When I may disappear or go quiet for a while

Go to your eternal rest now, PG.....

And a mourning Mothers Day too.....

What is poignant too is that I had a message:

'PG would love to see you again;

She appreciates your visits

Though you don't live locally'

Troubled times, orchi (no place for fun just here) You hint of other difficulties -- I do hope the best for you.

A sad but peaceful lament of loss and yet release from pain and suffering. Nicely worded Orchi. My condolences my friend

Thank you SB. In a comedy film, finding comedy even in a hospital setting, one said 'I can't visit too often; it costs me too much in petrol/fares, etc.' But the person had a broken leg in the film. Of course we wouldn't say that to anyone in a real situation.

Laurel and Hardy did in their film. You are most welcome Orchi

Moving, powerful. Sorry for your loss.

Thank you K. It's an indirect loss to me though.

Orchi, this is a tender tribute…you can feel the sincerity in the visits, the prayers, and the simple act of being there when it mattered. It reads like a farewell spoken quietly from the heart. I will confess something though…I saw the title and, knowing you, I briefly thought you were writing an ode to the film rating PG. 🤣🤷‍♂️ But once I dove into it, it became clearly a beautiful ode to a person. Reading your note at the end, I do want you to know that I am keeping you and everyone in my prayers. Anywho, before I ramble on…Ol’ Tomás is doing all he can to keep Popeyeus Glug Maximus Solus' glugging down. At least Tom's aware of tact in a touchy moment, God bless him. Touching piece, my friend. Sorry for your loss and, again, keeping you in prayer. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

              Thank you T.
But - a gift on our doorstep. A sympathy card? Nooo - a late Christmas card and gift! Why, Christmas was on March 25 in some olden days, I believe!
And yep, Ol' Tom and his friends are subdued - toning down the glugs? And the sound of the knitting needles too?!

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Yeah...amazing right? Not quite absent...but a more somber click-clack-glug-glug combo for the occasion. Gotta give that Ol' Tom some credit. 🤣

Oh no, P & Co may return to 'normal' after a while. That's the cause of their antics! lol. What ARE we talking about? But wait - still don't answer that!

                    LOL! 🤐

Welcome. Just lit a friend last week so can empathize

                          • NafisaSB

W also sincerely hope your other ongoing problems, if any, disappear with the sun’s first rays soon

                            • orchidee

Thank you N. They are fairly long-term things, so we have to take each day as it comes.

                              • NafisaSB

You and yours will be a part of our prayers 🤲
