Sleepy Sonnet.

Goldfinch60

Each night I go to bed and go to sleep,

My eyes close entering the land of nod,

Into that land my mind falls to its deep,

And into my dreams my mind will then plod.

The moonlight glimmers softly through the night,

As shadows dance upon my silent wall,

My thoughts drift gently, veering out of sight,

And with each breath, I heed the dreamland’s call.

Within my dreams, new worlds begin to bloom,

Where wonders fill the night with whispered song,

The dawn soon breaks and banishes the gloom,

Yet sleep’s sweet journey lingers ever long.

In slumber’s arms, my spirit finds release,

To rise anew, refreshed by tranquil peace.

Thank you Orchi. If I don't hear you singing I have always slept well.

Hypnotic. I'm sure Shakespeare would have given this a pass mark - provided he hadn't dropped off before the end....
          Masterful, Andy.
