Fly close to home little one
So I know you’re here
So I remember your name
So we will be familiar in the passing wind
Let me know your comings and goings
I breathed life into you and this gift of wind
I hear you rejoice in the buzz of the bee
I see you follow the tilt of the skies
In longing, you are still mine
Unencumbered, spreading your wings
I touch the night sky and see your face
I will hear your song
I will sing it back to you

Good write K.
Katie I hear your song in the form of a bird calling for its fledglings flown. This contains the pain of a mother that watch her young fly. Well done a fave
Described in Sweet Lines !!
Katie, this carries a quiet, tender love…that balance between holding close and letting go is felt in every line. “So we will be familiar in the passing wind” really anchors that connection, and the ending…“I will sing it back to you” brings it full circle in a beautiful way. Lovely work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you for your kind, supportive words. I always appreciate your feedback and taking the time to write such a thorough review.
Most welcome, Katie! Glad our poetic paths have crossed, my friend!
They will always be there for you Katie.

Some spirits are eternally connected. Your poem puts the longing and emotion of love in one basket. Let it go, if it comes back its yours.
it is extremely challenging, but we have to let them go sooner or later - very well explained
