We are all one

sorenbarrett

From birth molded atoms of the earth we are
Some from a distant star some a dead tzar
From life to life a series of dreams
On currents of time, carried as light beams
Atoms shed from bodies of the dead
Calcium from bones, iron from blood red
Shared atoms from all the past
The first living cell down to the last
Once part of Cezar, another part of a slave
we are a part of Jesus resurrected from his grave

Yes, KP's just a pile of dust. 'Who you calling a pile of dust?' she asks me! lol.

    • sorenbarrett

Thanks Orchi for the read and comment yes it is true dust to dust our skin changes every ten days and in a lifetime every cell in the body has been changed several times. So the question is who are we if our cells do not remain the same and where does consciousness or the soul hide.

      • orchidee

Does it depend how many brain cells we have too, now you mention cells? Is it the change more noticeable if we only have 3 brain cells? lol.
Fido must be my conscience really, and maybe consciousness too, unless he's a real talking dog!
I would say our consciousness is in our spirit and/or our soul, with our spirit being the 'deepest' part of us.

        • sorenbarrett

Just remember Orchi those cells multiply and divide so what was three may now be many. I have puzzled of the consciousness issue for years it is the hard problem of science that no one has the answer to When it comes to science Richard Feynman a Nobel laurite has a great scientific thought on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TL5sb7_VD-k

Who is human? Who is conscious?! lol. I suppose we are conscious, as we are verified as humans to get on this site! lol. We might be half human, half guinea pig, or something. heehee.

            • sorenbarrett

Being guinea pig is the up side

            • Carmen Luca

Beautiful reflections. Maybe we are star dust temporarily clumped together in human form, too focused on the separation from other beings.

              • sorenbarrett

Thank you Carmen for your review and interpretation it is most valued and indeed we are literally star dust that recombines and is shared with all.

                • Carmen Luca

                  You are most welcome.

                • Katie B.

                  Powerful and moving!

                  • Demar Desu - 德马尔·德苏

The other day a person told me we all are breathing the same air recycled from centuries and now… great poem to reflect our interconnection

                    • sorenbarrett

Thank you Demar your read and comment are deeply appreciated. Yes the number of atoms are numbered and reused.

                    • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren this carries both scale and weight…moving from distant stars to shared atoms, then grounding it in bone and blood. “Atoms shed from bodies of the dead” really anchors that idea. It leaves me thinking about how connected everything truly is. Fantastic write and a fave.🌹🖤🙏🕯️

                      • sorenbarrett

Thank you so much Tristan for the read and comment it means a lot. The idea that we shed atoms regularly and cells as well replacing our entire selves over years and that those cells and atoms become all around us know we are just one giant family.

                      • Prachi Dalvi

Reminds me of 'Breath of Caesar'.
                              Another Fave.

We come from afar soren and it all started with the "Big Bang" that is still enlarging the Universe.
