Losing someone who is still alive
Is like finding remnants of disbelief
The loss, cataclysmic
Touching pores, rubbing bones,
A wealth of hope insulted.
Circumstances, unconscionable
For she was part of me and
All I know

It is a sad occurrence that happens from time to time and one wonders when this began and why. One searches memory for signs unless one can identify the occurrence and reason. A haunting poem Katie where some of us experience this temporarily and others permanently. It is daytime darkness nature's need for independence taken too far. Well written
I hope it is rekindled…
Katie, this kind of loss feels so different from anything else…not an ending, but a distance that lingers. Reading this, you can feel how much love is still there. As a parent with adult children myself, I can only begin to imagine your pain. Praying for you, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
It does happen in family life Katie, it certainly has with me.
