THE GOODBYE NOTE

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

She turned her head
And forced a smile
Her journey ahead
Filled with many miles
A familiar route
And travelled road
Her lying eyes
A goodbye note.

Its all just
A memory now
Like fallen rain
A broken vow
Like dancing leaves
On morning dew
Very seldom
Do I think of you.

But still the breeze
Sometimes whispers sweet
Your name called
Upon the street
Which breaks a spell
A magic time
When we laughed
When we smiled.

Most nostalgic of a time that was more innocent, brighter that time has taken away. Nicely written it conveys this well in good rhyme

How many goodbyes have disappeared to the years and then there’s some that remain as if they were just yesterday 🕊️🙏🏻

Such a beautiful poem, the breeze carrying someone’s presence is quietly powerful.
