Sloth of the present

sorenbarrett

The bone of laziness has grown and even it is arthritic
Exuberance flown, energy turned stone, breath paralytic
Feet to floor sewn eyelids under weight groan vision granitic
In a bed outgrown all work postpone deaf to any critic

Hope you are doing well. This is so moving and thus arousing concern.🕊️🙏🏻

Thank you very much Cryptic not all my poems are about me this was inspired by seen people of today that would rather sit hope than work although I have to admit that I have that nature since childhood to be lazy as well but I fight it and set myself daily goals otherwise I will feel worse tomorrow. Thanks for the concern but here all is normal what ever that is.

        • arqios

Rather a serious statement, which may be interpreted somehow ambivalently! Best wishes,

My friend, this hits with a heavy, dragging weight…like the body itself is resisting motion at every turn. It feels stuck in a way that’s almost physical. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

                • sorenbarrett

Thank you Tristan and so it is and becomes physical

There are those who give up far too easily .. and those who by virtue of this or that don't have the choice .. I know what side of the fence I choose to be & although it gets harder, I hope it pays off in the end .. Another good un sir .. Neville

It’s sad to see the new generations without the drive or motivation to work. I feel like I keep seeing AI this AI that, the technology is being abused. I try to not let things just be handed to me. Great poem Soren.
