A Short Series of Wonderings

A Short Series of Wonderings

I wonder if you ever

thought your

whispered lies hurt

any less than

  those you shouted ..

and I wonder

when you squeezed

me like that

you were thinking

of someone

  else entirely maybe ..

in fact, I have

often wondered why

after all we

then shared, it never

worked out

  and came to nothing ..

yes, I do still

occasionally wonder

but not so

  very often these days ..

A glimpse through a keyhole in time at thoughts that seem to darken as the sun goes down. A most lovely write of a haunting past dimmed. Loved it Neville

A lost love from way back will sometimes pop into memory and cause one to wonder what happened. Nonetheless, it was a blissful time and who can argue with that. So well-spoken it caused me to wonder. - Phil A.

Obviously in precisely the right moment to give it that level of reflective examination.

Neville, this carries a quiet, lingering weightโ€ฆnot loud, not dramatic, just honest. That movement from hurt to reflection, and then to something like distance, feels real. The wondering softens, but never fully leavesโ€ฆjust becomes something you visit less often. Beautifully done. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
