briefly
Morning’s borrowed light
slides in, unasked;
a soft spill across the floorboards,
easy as breath on a cool pane.
Mourning’s borrowed light
comes barrowed in,
uncasked from whatever vessel
kept it sealed ‘til now—
a gentle run that steadies
over its greaves the heart still wears
for one who grieves,
a release that settles the chest,
making weight briefly bearable.

Thanks Norman, most appreciated πποΈ
most welcome my friend
There is softness with this poem a tenderness and glow that settles like dust particles in that ray of light through the window pane. The concept of borrowed light enhances the view that we all are borrowed here even time and light. Lovely my dear friend and a fave
Thank you Soren. πποΈ

Beautiful, gentle and graceful.
Thank you, Katie B. ποΈπ
Beautifully written. Your poem addresses themes of loss, grief, and the natural world, particularly how morning light can symbolize hope and healing, albeit temporarily, for those who are in mourning.
Kind of you to say so dear Friendship πποΈ
You're so welcome, my friend
Good write A.

Arqios, Iβve felt that kind of quiet easing beforeβ¦where grief doesnβt leave, but it softens just enough to breathe again. Very relatable. This brought that space back clearly. Strong piece. πΉπ€ππ―οΈ
Some spaces still need representing, thatβs so cool! Thanks so much, Tittu ππ»ποΈ
The Sun Rise does sometimes have a Healing Quality. Enjoyed.
Oh yes, if I could only time it right... usually too early and usually too late for that golden moment. lol ποΈπ
Yes. Saw the Earth Set from the film by Artemis. We are so blessed to witness things that Newton or Galileo could only imagine.
I used to think it would be cool to visit or live in their time until the realisation of what it took for them just to survive a day!ππ»ποΈπ±
That grief changes in many ways Rik but all come good eventually.

Thatβs the journey, both in the good and not so good ππ»ποΈ
