You didnt want
To say goodbye
Beneath the warm
Summer sky
A tear that hung
In a balanced way
Like a circus act
Gone astray.
The big clock in
The passage way
Noisily ticked
Last words to say
To speak of love
And childrens smiles
How many times
I had made you cry.
Life to share
But death doesnt care
The years have melted
Hearts to bare
Final thoughts
Promises made
Still so much
For you I prayed.
