MERELY MEMORY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

We are destined
To become
Merely memories
Baked in sun
A shadow from
Moonlights glimmer
In velvet seas
A midnight shiver.

Upon the breath
Or in deeper thought
Our presence
In slumber caught
Our faces or motions
Expressions gaze
Of future generations
At the open gate.

Until no ones left
In thought or word
Fading from
This living world
A mere stain
Thats been removed
A figure that once
Was in this room.

A poem that focuses on the temporary nature of our existence and its dream like state. Nicely written

May the memories we leave are good ones for people to remember Norman.
