DREAMED AWAY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

They tell me
I have dreamed away
My very life
In a foolish way
Head in clouds
Led by heart
Bank balance zero
Not too smart.

Ive dwelled in castles
Of a wandering mind
In a dream
From the start
Play by the rules
That our masters make
Watch those in power
On the take.

Rebellion is
To my minds eye
To change the rules
Make free the sky
To walk with nature
Its very soul
Grasp the beauty
As I grow old.

The difference between what the heart and mind tell are echoed in what society values and the individual. Life to be lived for self or others is the question. Nicely written
