Tune: Monks Gate
('He who would valiant be')
Psalm 27 v.11-14 and Psalm 28 v.7-9
*******
Teach me your way, O Lord
Guide me by your word
In a plain path lead me
So I see clearly
Frome enemies defen
Me, your help to me send
Save me from them, for they
Oppress me today
I had fainted unless
You did me sure bless
Unless I believed to
See your mercies new
And to see your goodness
In this land here, no less
All hope of help would fail
Evil would prevail
Wait on the Lord, and be
Of good courage, He
Shall strengthen your heart, wait
He shall help not late
Wait on the Lord, I say
Continue watch and pray
The Lord my strength and shield
Power He does wield
My heart trusted Him so
I am helped, I know
Therefore my heart greatly
Rejoices freely
With my song I will praise
The Lord, to Him songs raise
He our strength, save, our plea
Our shepherd still be

Another good hymn Orchi one of trust and reliance which there is little of these days. Nicely done my friend
Thank you SB.
You are most welcome my friend
Donkey time soon - Palm Sunday. You got a spare donkey?! Aww, one church is not having a real donkey this year. maybe they 'can't get the staff these days!' They could have a cardboard cut-out one as second best. Doh!
Never had a donkey only a goat but they said that was satanic. My uncle told me never to trust a mule it will be good to you all its life just to get one chance to kill you.
It's an 'ass' in some versions! Is that a mule?
No a mule is a cross between a donkey and a horse and is sterile If the father was a donkey its a mule it the father was a horse its a Hinny
Great job, my friend
Thank you F.
Your welcome
Orchi, this holds both reverence and rhythm… it walks like a hymn but breathes like a prayer. And then somewhere in the cadence I can almost hear ol’ Tomás humming along in the back pew… Popeyeus Glug Maxiumus Solus nodding with full solemn authority… until the glug kicks in and the whole choir forgets the tune and meter and just goes with it anyway. Faith… but make it wonderfully human. Strong piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you T. I understand Popeyeus wrote a version: 'He who would glugging be!' lol.
