The Great Substitution

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Friends, I’m doing my best to keep up with comments. 😅 I’m still current on my own poems and first replies on others’ work, but this season has been a bit of a twister. Figured I’d drop a quick note so you don’t think I’ve vanished or gone flaky.
Read. Write. Rise. Realize. 🤘💀🖤
Jesus saith unto them,

“All the powers of earth
will be usurped by you —
my name in vain.

Go ye therefore, and indoctrinate all nations,
baptizing them in the shadow
of all your fear-built
institutions:

scaring them into observing
all things whatsoever
the leadership commands—

regardless:

and lo,
convince yourselves that
I am both with you
and seeth not the depths
of your heart’s terrible
treason."

Amen.

Contradictions are everywhere from government to religion and even in ourselves. Nicely done Tristan

Alas, no substitute sound for 'glug!' We'll not survive it! lol.

I often wander why in a court room we would have to swear on a bible? Religion and God is probably in ones own ideas and imageries in the end. 🌹

The intensity of your poem about attending Catholic school my whole life and boarding school, a private Catholic school, is striking. How true is this statement? I know someone who was to be a priest in their religion after many years. It didn't seem consistent with their actions. My question remains today! Good work. Your poem powerfully illuminates the exploitation of religious authority for selfish motives, highlighting a profound disparity between the genuine teachings of Jesus and the deeds of those who warp his message for dominance and influence, inspiring a quest for truth and exposing the hypocrisy of leaders who take advantage of faith.
