Tune: St Theodulph

('All glory, laud, and honour')

Matthew 21 v.4-11

********

Chorus

Behold, your King comes to you

In procession Him view

He rides upon a donkey

Enters city humbly

Zechariah's prophecy

Told of old comes to be

Behold, you people, your King

Comes to you, praises sing - Chorus

See Him, He meek and lowly

Pursues His way freely

Content to ride a donkey

In His humility - Chorus

A very great multitude

The triumph scene did view

Spread their garments in the way

And palm branches that day - Chorus

The peoples cried, Hosanna

Save us now, Lord, us hear

Blessed He that comes in the name

Of the Lord, Christ the same - Chorus

Hosanna in the highest

They sang, and they Him blessed

Jesus of Nazareth He

Their Saviour for to be - Chorus

A most wonderful poem for this time of year Orchi. I still wonder who that donkey belonged to. Did he get it from Aesop?

Matthew 21:1-11, SB. A most special time of year for Christians. Thanks for this one G.P.D.!

Memories of childhood - apart from my Sunday School attendance book filled with coloured stamps, this time of year gave me a small cross made, almost origami like out of a palm frond.

              Beautiful, Orchi! Happy gluggy Week.

              😤

Now...Popeye...this is not the time to glug. You are supposed to be fasting!

Sorry about that mate. He's really incorrigble! That aside, and in all seriousness, well done! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

                Thank you T.
Popeye sings a version relating to himself. The chorus starts: All glugging, glug, and glugging! Now he's ruined the hymn. lol.
