"cooler months, 2026"
The air cools a little earlier now,
and the days settle into their slower shape.
People move through the streets with a kind of ease
that comes when the heat steps back.
I write from that steadiness.
Not to instruct,
not to lift a curtain on anything hidden,
but simply to meet you here,
in this season that asks less of us.
If a poem arrives,
let it be something you can walk into
without needing to know the layout.
A room with enough light to see by,
and enough quiet to stay as long as you like.
What I offer is small:
a way of noticing,
a way of keeping company
as the evenings lengthen.
If you find yourself in these lines,
good.
If you don't,
you're welcome, all the same.
The door is open.
The season begins.

Thanks, Norman. Most appreciated, dear friend ποΈπ
most welcome
A poetic invitation to a more comfortable place one that has cooled and offers peace and rest. Lovely my friend
Truly inviting. Thanks dear Soren ππ»ποΈ
You are most welcome Cryptic
Lovely written, your poem reflects on the changing seasons, specifically the shift towards cooler days and longer evenings, which prompts a slower, more contemplative state of being.
Indeed! Thank you dear Friendship ππ»ποΈ
Thanks for the Fave @demar desu π€©ποΈππ»
βA room with enough light to see by, / and enough quiet to stay as long as you likeβ is such a lovely passage, Rik. It perfectly captures the emotional atmosphere the poem creates. It also reminds me that as we in the Northern Hemisphere prepare for summer here, SAD is kicking in elsewhere. Keeping that part of it in my prayers, even as I breathe a sigh of relief. Wonderful piece, my friend.πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
Beautiful, calm, inviting. Excellent piece.
Well, as one of us is 'upside down' (lol) the air warms here in the UK just now (we hope!) as you have our equivalent of November maybe.
You made the season feel like permission. Nicely written!
