I could have
But I did not
Say the words
I should have done
In the night
Of dying embers
In the days
Of Summer sun.
I could have
But I did not
My words
Choked up inside
I did not reach
Nor ask
My heart
It tried to hide.
The reality
In its retrospect
In a moment
Slipped away
Almost callous
Silent heartbeat
Within the words
I did not say.

Failure to act as much an error as acting wrongly. Well written in this poem

Most welcome Norman
Sounds like regret or was it more a scent of misgiving? Time will tell. Thanks for the thought provoking, Norman🙏🏻🕊️
