Jesus Christ Pose.

Aa Harvey

Jesus Christ Pose.

There is no light left in the place.
It’s an angry world so full of hate,
And it’s wearing me out; the thorny crown,
You make me wear is weighing me down.

So go ahead and build my cross.
I’m not cross.  I accept the loss,
Of all that is left in this darkening life.
You broke my smile when you blinded my eyes.

Now I can no longer find any good.
I miss the love this place used to have,
But no looking back at the loss, it’s gone,
To the nether.  Never to be seen again.

Now there are only blood stains on my halo.
I’ve seen the pain.  I saw the cancer grow,
And now all there is are hateful eyes,
That spy on the spies who spy my every move.
There is nothing left to do but lose.

This is the end of the happy days.
The Fonz is dead.  The skies are grey.
The anger flows through everyone’s veins,
Like a torrent of hate.

A judgment day is coming,

And I will face it with open arms.

I will embrace it for it will mean the end of all this.

Your hateful world has lost all its charm.

You rise.  You walk.  You fall.
When all you need is a helping hand.
There is no chance for this broken man.

A poem that sees oneself as victim of a harsh and judgmental world. Nicely written
