Are You Hopeful

Katie B.

Hope keeps me guessing

Keeps me waiting as if in line

Keeps me expecting change

Wanting more

Wanting something that may never be

She entices

Keeps us reaching

Is she an illusion, a dream

Is she a fairytale

Where is the end to the waiting

Where is the end to the wanting

Do we give up hope

Will today suffice

Will what I’m dealt this moment be adequate

Can I give up hope

Can I sit with reality and be satisfied

A poem of questions that add one upon the other. Personification of hope is well done here. Nicely written Katie

There's always hope (until there isn't).

          Hopefully, it’s good guessing 🙏🏻🕊️

Katie… this carries that restless tension…those questions keep pulling forward without letting anything settle. I’ve been in that space between hoping and accepting, and you captured it in a real, grounded way. Strong piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Time has two beauties. It goes by and it changes.
          Be hopelessly hopeful.
          God bless
