Tune: Monks Gate

('He who would valiant be')

Isaiah 26 v.1-4

*********

Israel's sings kingdom song

Sings it all day long

We have a strong city

Go appoints, so be

Salvation be as walls

To those who hear His calls

And as defences sure

Protection e'ermore

Open gates of city

And enter freely

You righteous nation who

Keep the truth, you do

You, O God, will them keep

In perfect peace, your sheep

Those whose minds stayed on you

Who trust you whole, true

Trust in the Lord for e'er

Depart from Him ne'er

He your strong confidence

Go forth in Him hence

For in the Lord there is

Everlasting strength, this

Is so, Jehovah He

Endlessly shall be

Nicely done. Your poem uses imagery of a strong city to symbolize safety and salvation. It addresses the faithful, portraying them as a righteous nation that is kept in peace by God. Your poem encourages trust in the Lord as a source of everlasting strength and confidence.

Thank you F. Do you use AI to help with comments? I don't mind if you do.

A wonderful hymn my friend nicely worded

Thank you SB. I have a pencil, with words on it, 'Trust in the Lord for ever'. Is my trust waning, as the pencil gets shorter as I sharpen it and the words disappear gradually?! lol.

        • sorenbarrett

You are most welcome Orchi You are being lead to apply the trust (pun intended) Faith without works is dead.

All that singing is a bit of a worry when you are the sponsor...

                  Thank you D.

                  • orchidee

Thank you D. Yes, it's a pity I have to (so-called) sing each one 20 times! Got earplugs?! lol. Someone heard someone else singing and said 'Is there music to that?' as the person was out of tune.

                    • Doggerel Dave

Very discreet, so you are. Withholding names to protect the guilty?

PS: Re your AI question above, orchi - if you received the honest answer, you would make several flannelers here inconsolable...🤣

Thank you Gold. Fibonacci is quite a long word too, but not as long as that hippo word! lol.

Orchi… this carries a real sincerity…steady, grounded, and held together with that sense of trust throughout. But I’m not buying the full innocence here…somewhere between those gates and that “everlasting strength,” you’ve got Popeye stationed with a crate of contraband glugs, nodding like it’s all perfectly scriptural. Always a trip with that dude, you know? 🤣 🧠🔥🪞🙏

                        • orchidee

Thank you T. Alas, a glugging sound throws us off any steadiness, groundedness, etc. We can't trust one - the glugging one. lol. We start off sensibly, he turns up, then we descend into spouting rubbish! lol.
