The 9 3/4 platform of the internet
a place you slip into accidentally,
right between a normal click
and a terrible decision.
Profiles glow with inspirational quotes,
while their inboxes drip
with the emotional hygiene
of a public restroom.
The site claims it’s “community‑driven.”
just like a stampede is “horse‑driven.”
Every report button is decorative,
like a fire extinguisher
filled with glitter.
But it teaches you
a skill schools never teach
the art of blocking with Olympic precision.
And when you finally log off,
the silence feels so clean
you could bottle it
and sell it as luxury skincare.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is for HELLO POETRY WEBSITE and its moderators. I packed my poems from this site because of one poet with a personal beef with a persistent stalker, the rest of us ended up dodging messages like falling ceiling tiles. I was one of them, and I am sure there are still many more. They choose silence, I never will. And if any of you think I chickened out, please, this isn’t fear, it’s farming. Poetry site moderators need to be more careful and watchful about such harassers posing as poets rather than bots or the use of AI in poetry.
