Avenues

2781

I search for an old song

One my mother used to play

On a crackling 78

It was called "A perfect day "

I found a modern version by someone I hadn't heard

His name was Loudon Wainwright the third

The song was appropriate, but what came next

Made me consider the hair on my chest

I wish I was a Lesbian!

What a cracker of a song

Made me think of my wife

And how we get along

I would share it if I could

But I don't know how?

I sent it to my wife, she had a laugh

Call it a catchy tune!

The avenues he takes me

Keep me amused...

Good write 2. I went down a dead-end. Is that similar to an avenue?! lol.

Well, avenues have trees (usually). The dead end had trees, so I thought it was an avenue. lol.

Found him and song on You Tube, but is wasn't very clear and without subtitles (my hearing sometimes isn't up to much) however it doesn't take much to send me down a rabbit hole there, ...banned songs through the centuries... and...
