BUT QUIETLY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Step but quietly
Upon your path
Each road you travel
Every home you pass
Each mirrored gaze
Every dream you dream
Is but a butterfly
In a gentle breeze.

Your voice it soothes
On angry days
In velvet tones
In  calming waves
Each falling droplet
Of Summer rain
Which forms a mist
That softly lays.

Its weary head
Upon a carpet green
A distant meadow
Locked in dream
A fairytale
A wanton kiss
In moments lost
These things to miss.

Norman, that butterfly in a breeze image really holds the center…everything feels fleeting but intentional at the same time. It gives the whole piece a soft, fragile weight that carries through. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Wonderful words Norman, in going quietly you can then hear all around you.
