Each feather hangs with a story,
Whispering names of ancestors,
Battles fought, trails crossed,
Songs sung beneath the endless sky.
The war bonnet crowns the head
Not with vanity, but with memory—
A river of colors flowing down the back,
Each plume a witness, a voice,
A promise carried forward.
It sways with every step,
A rhythm of respect,
A rhythm of courage,
Binding the wearer to those who came before,
And those who will come after.
To touch it is to feel history,
To wear it is to bear responsibility,
A mantle of stories,
Woven with wind, fire, and spirit.

A poem that emphasizes another culture now past and lost to guns, disease, ignorance and genocide. Well written a fave
My friend, this moves with reverence and purpose…memory, responsibility, and identity all woven together in a way that feels grounded and sincere. It doesn’t overreach, it just speaks plainly and lets the meaning settle. Really enjoyed this. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
well written
A great write of a most honourable race
