On a Road to Knossos
Such small white stone
domed houses
each set on green
hillsides amid vineyards
and olive groves ..
Sitting pretty like doves
all casually scattered
against a backdrop of
turquoise while the scent
of figs and wildflowers
simultaneously
caress each of my eyes
and my nostrils ..
Oh’ yes indeed my friend
that is precisely how
and where we found our
small priceless sliver of Crete ..

- Comment from author about the poem: No elaboration whatsoever has been used to accentuate the beauty I found there again this time around and if kind enough to take a peek .. please don't be frank .. I much prefer francesca's .. taken from my next anthology A Nuance for Old Time Sake .. date of possible publication as yet unknown ..

lovely written. Your poem aims to capture a moment of beauty and connection with the land, celebrating the simple joys of life and the profound impact of nature on the human spirit.
Thanks Friendship .. that's precisely what I was hoping to hear .. Kindest Regards, Neville 🌻
You're so welcome, my friend
Neville, the way the world once was, perhaps, and once more with feeling, perhaps still should be.
