Look at the powerful swimmers,
the ones who shape the water,
Cutting through warm currents
with their smooth, sleek shapes.
They chase schools of tiny
fish through the dark,
Making the water glow
with flashes of bright, white light.
You cannot see the whole ocean
all at once; to follow the fish
through dark is to watch
the universe move.

much enjoyed
good stuff, most appreciated, friend ποΈπ
There's still more to discover under the water than there is in space.
I think the really dark ocean brings out some weird species that you really marvel at.
Most definitely. Thank you so much for the visit/read and the much valued responseπποΈ
Arqios, this really moved me. I especially loved "to follow the fish through dark is to watch the universe move." The poem begins in the ocean, but by the end it feels like it's speaking about perspective itself...how wonder often lives in the things we choose to follow. Beautifully crafted, my friend. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
Night fishing/trawling for several years may have birthed this insight. It wasn't professional. I tagged along but the effect was the same and I learned a set of skills and gained another view of life to boot. Thanks Tittu πποΈ
So interesting the idea that the universe is seen at different levels up and down from the smallness of quantum to the vastness of Newtonian views. Darkness of space darkness of the ocean each their own space. Nicely done Cryptic
Many thanks, Soren. Sometimes the great Sea is the siren itself, it would seem. ππ»ποΈ
Indeed it is for many and has had that pull on me as well
Thereβs a beautiful stillness here, capturing the ocean as both a place and a living mystery.
The final lines open something larger, where watching a simple movement becomes a glimpse into the universe itself.
Thanks for pointing out that largeness and the opening towards it. Very easy to forget that in our very focused world todayππ»
A fine write A. More to be found under the water, than above it.
But unfortunately for me, there's LESS to be found inside me head than outside of it. Well, I've only 3 brain cells. lol.
Perhaps we could invest in cell-sized submersibles to explore, oh waitβ¦ we have poems to do that π€Ώππ»ποΈ
I'm sure there's alot undiscovered in our Oceans as well as in other areas of Nature.
Good Images here.
Cheers, Kevin. Glad to hear from you again.ποΈππ»
Wonderful words Rik and so true.
