Even More Things Remembered
I remember when
I took that white dove out ..
It was around
the same time, as I found
your perfume
on the lapel and the sleeve
of my favourite
old hacking jacket, the one
that you sewed
all those pretty patches on ..
I also recall when
and where it was exactly
I discovered
the fern fine golden strand
of your then,
bleached blonde hair folded
neatly and tucked
away nicely for safe keeping
down the side
of our distressed leather sofa ..

Thank you Steven .. I hope you are well .. Neville
Neville, this feels deeply intimate and achingly tenderβ¦the kind of memory poem where every object becomes emotionally charged simply because a person once touched it. Thereβs real longing living inside these details. Beautiful work, my friend. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
Thank you kindly our Tristan, your thoughts on the matter in hand mean a great deal to me .. Neville ππ€π¦ββ¬π΅πββ¬π€π
Now that just brough back memories of beach blonde hair between the ages of 15-19... carefree days. A Fave ποΈπ
That feels like a yes .. thank you most kindly .. Neville
Many times over YES, dear Nππ»ποΈπ€©
One wonders what exactly happened to make the sofa so distressed...
All Other considerations aside, have you managed to retain the golden hair in a Victorian style locket or other place of safekeeping?
You have, as is your wont, created a relationship out of very few words, Neville - great verse.
You should have felt the angst in my armchairs Dave .. but that aside, no, not in a locket, but in an original 1914 Princess Mary brass Christmas tin .. and by the way, I do so love that term 'as is your wont' ... Many thanks indeed, Neville
Ah - the brass Christmas tin: have two of those; unfortunately not much left as Grandmother would Brasso them once a week without fail...
Anyway, with respect to your thanks above, will 'my pleasure' be sufficient return?
Take care.
Memories of loved ones are so profound Neville.
Andy
Absolutely and thanks for stopping by .. Neville
