THE ANGEL WHO FELL

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

As a beacon
You lit the sky
A falling star
From Heaven high
Painted lips
Eyes of beauty
An angel falling
Who failed in duty.

Criss cross path
Amongst the stars
Now to Earth
With bitter scars
Each ribbon of flame
Free of master
Battered frame
To seek shelter.

Lost within
The cruel hours
The doubting moments
Fear that showers
Immortality gone
You age as we
Power drained
Soon to see.

An angel appeared to you and granted you a miracle - a bus turned up! lol.

Abuse may occur even in heaven. A wonderful write that transforms the spiritual into the mortal

This is a cool Christian doctrine poem. I love reading about angels and fall of Hell.

    Most poetic. Well done.

Norman...what a haunting piece this is. The celestial imagery feels grand, but the emotional core stays painfully grounded...falling, aging, doubting, searching for shelter after the fire fades. And that final realization creeping in at the end...you can feel it approaching before the poem even says it outright. Excellent write, my friend. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
