You are everything

sorenbarrett

You are in the trees, birds, breeze, walls, bees, earth, memories
In the air, words, strand of hair, cricket calls, mirror's stare, rebirth, the unaware
Falling rain, a sunbeam, growing grain, faded ribbon, golden chain
Gossamer lace, star gleam, quiet place, a ring given, your favorite vase
In the flame, guiding light, picture frame, dust that falls, called name
In my chest, dark of night, dreams of rest, empty halls, my last bequest

Good write SB. This could be about a spirit - our own spirit - or the Holy Spirit, or all of these, I would say.

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren, this has such a graceful emotional flow to it. The poem keeps widening outward from physical objects into memory, spirit, absence, and finally mortality itself. By the end, the beloved feels omnipresent…woven into both the beauty and emptiness of the world. “You are in the trees, birds, breeze” is such a strong and immediate opening for that journey. Wonderful piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Tristan I am always most grateful for you deep understanding of my works. Your interpretations open wider the scope of the poem and are most valued. Yes you hit upon the point I am a follower of Spinoza and his belief that we are all things and that everything is connected. I am a believer in panphysicism and the unity of the universe and nature.
