('The church of God a kingdom is')
2 Thessalonians 3 v.10-15
************
Work on, and labour in God's land
He provides by His hand
Gives skills and gifts to each to share
So shall each one well fare
If one would not work, then one should
Not eat, but if one could
Work, so one should do faithfully
So then there no lack be
For some did live disorderly
Working not at all, see
But being busybodies they
Lived out their lives each day
Such should in the Lord with quietness
Earn daily bread, and bless
Their community, and weary
Not in well doing be
If they not obey this, them warn
But not forsake nor scorn
Them, but encourage, do their part
With their will, mind, and heart

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. on a Rogation-tide theme - asking God's blessings on the Harvest season to come. It says if any WILL NOT work. It is sympathetic to those who CANNOT work, or who CAN and WANT to work but have troubles in finding employment. It can apply to this day and age, as well as St Paul writing to the Thessalonians about it - Thessaly in Greece.

Well written, your poem revolves around the importance of hard work and community responsibility within the framework of faith.
Thank you F.
Wow now that’s a full steak dinner… well it’s at Corinth and one couldn’t expect any less 🥩🙏🏻🕊️
Thank you A. It's bread and water for KP! lol.
A great tribute to the need to earn your keep.God will provide if you work at it
Thank you D. What made it worse was that, not only would they not work, but interfered in everyone else's business. They had nothing else to do probably. Doh!
What really stayed with me here, Orchi, is “But not forsake nor scorn.” That turn gives the whole piece its heart for me. Correction paired with compassion instead of condemnation. Lovely and deeply needed sentiment, my friend.
Now naturally…Popeyeus Glug Maximus Solus heard “daily bread” and immediately arrived demanding six loaves and a ceremonial barrel of glug green wine for “liturgical purposes only.” Why is it green? You find that out at WCAT.huh? 🍞🍷 🤣🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you T. Doh! He wants daily spinach instead! lol.
Well written Orchi another good hymn
Thank you SB.
You are most welcome Orchi
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
Another fine hymn poem & its good to note God is sympathetic to those who are not able to do such and such .. Neville
Thank you N. Yes, and St Paul, writing in God's name, in the original verses is sympathetic here. Who needs busybodies?! But I married KP. lol.
