She could not prevent
The single tear that fell
Emotion trapped
Within its shell
Solitary
In its fall
From eye to cheek
A lonely call.
It left behind
Its salted home
In dampened eye
An unwritten note
That pleaded not
Unhidden pain
Clinging to cheek
No care or shame.
Its journey short
Etched in time
A single motion
A broken crime
It leaves a trail
Upon the skin
Then is gone
A simple thing.

A moving piece dear friend 🕊️🙏
much appreciated, thanking you
Most welcome 🕊️🙏🏻
Norman you have taken an image so commonly used in poetry that it is trite and made it most poetic and artistic in this poem that paints the image well but more importantly has personified it and made it alive and a subject of pity. Well written and a fave
too kind my friend, much appreciated and many thanks
Not at all, well deserved, you are most welcome my friend.
A fine write N. Only One tear shed for missing that bus, when it finally got there?! lol.
I only had one tear left, that bloody bus lol
lol
Norman, this has such delicate emotional control to it. The tear becomes memory, confession, grief, and release all within one small movement across the skin. Wonderfully written, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanking you, always grateful for the read
