Gratitude Of Life Sonnet.

Goldfinch60

I look upon my life and softly see
I may not hold each thing I wished to own,
Yet all I truly need belongs to me:
A roof above, a place to call my own.

There’s food upon the table every day,
And faithful friends with whom my joys I share,
A loving heart beside me on life’s way,
Whose love I hold as constant, deep, and fair.

I do not need for more than this to live,
For I am rich in all that life has shown;
So lucky for the many gifts it gives,
And grateful for the blessings I have known.

Thus I will live with thankful heart each day,
And treasure life exactly as it stays.
